Organs and organisation
The Benefactors' Association of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation was established in 1978 and has its headquarters in Nottwil.
According to the Benefactors' Association's constitution, it supports the efforts of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, as well as Association members who suffer spinal paralysis as a result of an accident. The Benefactors' Association is a sister organisation of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation.
The highest decision-making body in the Benefactors' Association is the Members' Assembly. The Board of Trustees safeguards its strategic direction. Managerial responsibility is delegated to the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation within the scope of an agreement and is integrated into the organisation's Marketing & Fundraising unit in order to generate as many synergies as possible in fundraising activities and in order to ensure that resources are utilised responsibly.

Heinz Frei (Chairman)
The one-time surveyor currently works as a sports consultant for the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and is responsible for new sports talent at Wheelchair Sport Switzerland (RSS). He has had a remarkable 30-year career as a wheelchair athlete with international successes in athletics, handbike racing and cross-country sit-skiing (14 Paralympics titles, 13 world titles, 106 marathon victories, and many more). He is also an athletes' representative on the International Paralympic Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation.
Dr. Hans Georg Koch (Vice-Chairman)
After studying Medicine at the University of Basel, he spent several years working as a junior doctor in various clinics, before graduating as a Doctor of Medicine. He has worked in the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil since 1990, and since 1994 as a consultant.
Daniel Joggi
Dr. Joggi, who studied Agronomics at the ETH in Zurich, has been tetraplegic since a skiing accident in 1977. The father-of-two was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation in 2000, and has presided as chairman since December 2009.
Hans Jürg Deutsch
After finishing school, he studied Medicine for four semesters in Zurich before working on a voluntary basis at the Ringier Verlag publishing house. SonntagsBlick was then founded and he took up the role of Editor-in-Chief. He also managed the editorial team on Schweizer Illustrierte. Hans Jürg Deutsch is now employed as the manager of the Ringier Health Care Unit and is responsible for the "Gesundheit Sprechstunde" [Health Consultation] TV programme.
Peter Landis
(45 years old) suffered a spinal cord injury due to a motorcycle accident in 1986. He works as an administration manager for a company engaged in architecture and timber construction.
Barbara Moser Blanc
After studying Business Management at Northwest Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (FHNW), she completed the Highest Degree as a State-Certified Marketing Manager, as well as a diploma in "Systemic Coaching". She also holds a Masters in Corporate Development/Change Management, as well as the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Psychology. Barbara Moser is employed as a Management Consultant on Strategy, Marketing and Personnel Matters, in Executive Search, Coaching, as well as as a marketing lecturer.
Pius Segmüller
After studying to be a secondary school teacher, he completed training courses at military schools, the ETH in Zurich and at the Police Officer College SPI in Neuchâtel. Pius Segmüller was deployed as Commander of the Swiss Guard in Rome, and as Commander of the Lucerne City Police Department. He is currently CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of swissec AG in Hochdorf, as well as a CVP National Council member.
Vreni Stöckli
After leaving school, she worked as a ski instructor SSS. She was a member of Schwyz Cantonal Council from 2000 to 2002. Nowadays, Mrs. Stöckli, who is a wheelchair user, is a housewife and a mother of two children.
Stephan Zimmermann
After studying Law at the University of Zurich, he worked in various solicitors' practices, as well as at Zurich District Court. He has been a lawyer since 1976 and is nowadays a senior partner in Wehrli Zimmermann Gleixner & Partners in Zurich.
The Swiss Paraplegic Foundation attends to the management of the Benefactors' Association, the benefactors' administration, data management, benefactor support, and member marketing within the scope of a cooperation agreement.
Dr. iur Joseph Hofstetter (Secretary)
Doctorate in Law (University of Bern). He worked as a lawyer in the Department of Justice of the canton of Lucerne up to 2000 and was employed by the Swiss Paraplegics Association as a legal advisor until 2006. Since then he has held the position of Head of Legal Services at the Swiss Paraplegics Foundation and has been Secretary General since 2010.
